Andrew: I assume you're referring to Davis' comment about writers making more money by stretching one story over several issues, which enables them to write more titles every month? And artists demanding splash pages for extra resale value? I think he nailed it.

Erech: Which parts are you retracting?

I'd much rather one good 22-page story than a terrible 7 or... 52-issue limited series.

Like "Fell," "The Thing," some of "She-Hulk," and a few other examples.

I'd love to hear a response to Alan Davis's talk about the artistic value of the multi-issue story...

ALTHOUGH I'd bet Grant would be hard-pressed to get 5 artists to come out and say they a) want to give up that monthly-ish paycheck for 22 pages vs doing an ogn or two every year, and b) there are that many artists out there who can handle much more than 22 pages in a grind segment. It'd be a hard transition for a lot of people I'd think, that 22nd page is always the rainbow you look for when you get to take a break. Not to mention all those slowpoke artists out there ;)
