WHO DOES THIS “GUY” THINK HE IS?
Guy — as in “guillotine” — LeCharles Gonzalez is a problem solver. Bullshit detector. Deep-lying playmaker.
Sometimes loud, formerly poet, always opinionated. Pro-craft. Data-informed, never data-driven.
He is currently the Chief Content Officer for LibraryPass. Previously, he was the project lead for the Panorama Project; publisher & marketing director for Writer’s Digest; director, content strategy & audience development for Library Journal & School Library Journal; and founding director of programming & business development for Digital Book World.
He’s also a published poet, sporadic journalist, and active blogger; former National Poetry Slam champion (representing the Nuyorican Poets Café); and co-founder/host of a little bit louder / The louderARTS Project. (RIP)
(Check out Chapter 18 of Words in Your Face: A Guided Tour Through Twenty Years of the New York City Poetry Slam for insights into his early years in the poetry scene.)
Personally, he’s a husband, father, writer, reader, gamer, runner, and baseball and soccer fan, who prefers a good whiskey above all others—although a nice porter is always an option.
He can be rather outspoken at times and does not suffer fools gladly, so nothing on this site is meant to be representative of his employers or clients — past, present or future.
