“A slant fit.” Data-informed, never data-driven. Systems thinker. Problem solver. Pro-craft.

An entrepreneurial media and marketing professional — I’ve been a scalpel, a Swiss Army Knife, and managed large and small teams across multiple brands and departments. I’ve been directly responsible for budgets of $50K to $4.5M, and played a key executive role in two different companies being successfully acquired for multiples on revenue.

I’ve spent the vast majority of my career in media (primarily magazines and books, physical and digital), and I’ve worn a variety of hats for companies of all shapes and sizes. I’ve developed and executed subscription, marketing, and content strategies for a range of products and services; produced hundreds of live and virtual events for a range of audiences and business goals; and negotiated agreements with dozens of publishers, distributors, and individual creators.

I have multi-platform experience working with a wide range of publishers, distributors, librarians, journalists, creators, and consumers, and I specialize in building strong relationships with communities, colleagues, and clients — particularly during transformative and disruptive moments.

I am also a traditionally published poet and writer, occasional journalist, and active blogger; experienced community and events organizer, and public speaker; and longtime advocate for creators, publishers, libraries, and intellectual freedom.
