WHO DOES THIS “GUY” THINK HE IS?

The only thing I was fit for was to be a writer, and this notion rested solely on my suspicion that I would never be fit for real work, and that writing didn’t require any.
–Russell Baker
Guy LeCharles Gonzalez is an old/new media pragmatist; (still a) publishing optimist, and a library advocate.
Professionally, he is the Director, Content & Digital Product Development for Media Source / Library Journals, LLC, and the former Director of Programming & Business Development for Digital Book World. He’s a published poet and journalist, former National Poetry Slam champion, and recently self-published an echapbook of poetry entitled Handmade Memories.
Personally, he’s a father, husband, poet, writer, reader, long-suffering NY Mets and Jets fan, and prefers Pumpkin, Barley Wine and India Pale Ales, Dona Paula Shiraz Malbec, and Four Roses and Buffalo Trace bourbons. The combination is wonderfully complicated and quite simple, really.
He can be rather outspoken at times and does not suffer fools gladly, so nothing on this site is meant to be representative of his employers — past, present or future.
You can also find him on Google+, Twitter, LinkedIn, Goodreads, Untappd, and, occasionally, in Botanica Bar, among other places, online and in real life. (Facebook is primarily for real-life family and friends, so don’t be offended if your friend request is ignored.)
NOTE: “Guy” is pronounced like “guillotine”, not “guidance”.
